Steve Bannon joins Jan Jekielek of American Thought Leaders to discuss the neck-snapping rise of China achieved through access to Western capital and technology, which the Chinese Communist Party, in turn has used to stifle dissent and advance their self-serving global ambitions.
And we look at the threat of Chinese telecom giant Huawei and its ties to the People’s Liberation Army, which are spotlighted in a new film produced by Bannon called “Claws of the Red Dragon,” to be released amid an escalating trade war between China and the US.
Jan Jekielek: You described Huawei as the greatest national security threat we have ever faced…Bigger than nuclear war?..This is quite the statement.
Steve Bannon: No, because here’s why. The future of all technology; the backbone of the future of technology is 5G. It will be a dominant technology. Right now, the path that Huawei’s taken as a front for the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) is to basically take over the networks and the components throughout the world.
If we allow this to happen, even for a couple more years, Huawei is going to control basically the communications systems of the West and therefore, would be able to control the West…
We’re in 2019 and we’re finally having the conversation about Huawei because the CFO was arrested in Canada within the past year. Up until then, if you go to Europe, you see Huawei in the billboards you see Huawei in the stores, there has been absolutely no discussion. The elites have let down the citizens of both Canada the United States and Western Europe and now this film is the beginning of the exposure of that…
Understand, this is not about China. It’s not about the people of China. The people of China are some of the most hard-working, decent people on Earth. They’re enslaved by the radical, totalitarian surveillance state of the Chinese Communist Party and really, a radical cadre inside that Communist Party, that suppresses and enslaves the Chinese people.
Huawei is a methodology; a high-tech methodology to basically have domination over the world and this is what this film is about. The beginning of the exposure of that is going to cause a lot of controversy. It’s going to cause a conversation. That’s what we want. We want people to start questioning this.
