About the show
In the first half, world-renowned Feng Shui master Marie Diamond joined host Lisa Garr (email) to talk about how your home is a vision board that tells the universe what you want to attract in your life. “Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system that focuses on the flow of energy in your environment,” she explained, also comparing it to acupuncture for the home. She recounted a pivotal moment from her youth when a near-death experience led her to seek answers about her physical and mental health. Diamond’s spiritual advisor attributed her challenges to “bad Feng Shui,” prompting her to change her living space. According to her, the results were remarkable. “My life turned around. I became friendly, and my health improved,” she recalled.
Diamond provided essential tips for those new to Feng Shui. She recommended positioning one’s desk to face the door, stating, “When you see the door, you have a stronger energy flow.” Additionally, she advised incorporating colors like royal blue and gold in certain areas of the home to enhance leadership and abundance. “Royal blue activates success, while gold represents money flow,” she noted. Diamond also emphasized the power of a wooden headboard in the bedroom and advised against having mirrors reflecting the bed. “Mirrors can double your stress and affect your sleep,” she cautioned.
Throughout her career, Diamond has worked with numerous celebrities, helping them align their spaces with their aspirations. One client moved their Oscars from the bedroom to their office and ended up winning another award the following year. She is passionate about educating everyone, not just the rich and famous, on the benefits of Feng Shui. “Your home is a vision board. It reflects your subconscious,” she said. “Clutter outside of you creates chaos inside of you.”

In the second half, astrologer and author Catherine Gerdes shared foundational astrological concepts. She discussed Pluto’s transit from Capricorn to Aquarius, which she described as a transformative shift that will last until January 2044. Gerdes explained how this change represents the transition from individual achievement — symbolized by Capricorn’s motto “I achieve” — to a greater emphasis on community and technological advancement, which are hallmarks of Aquarius. “We can definitely expect to continue seeing the tech field grow, especially with advancements like AI,” she noted.
As the discussion turned to personal astrology, Gerdes distinguished between sun signs, rising signs, and moon signs. She emphasized that while many resonate with their sun sign, the rising sign plays a crucial role in how we interact with the world. “The rising sign informs how we engage with others and what they perceive upon first meeting us,” she explained. The conversation also delved into shadow traits associated with each astrological sign. Gerdes noted how every sign has both positive attributes and shadow traits that can emerge when individuals are not aware of their own destructive patterns. For instance, she described Capricorn’s shadow side as a control-freak that struggles with “easing into surrender and going with the flow.” Gerdes pointed out how awareness of these more negative traits can foster personal growth.
The discussion also touched on the north and south nodes of the moon, which she described as indicators of life purpose. According to Gerdes, the north node points to what brings genuine joy and accomplishment on a soul level. “If we just look in the chart at the message of the north node, we typically see what will bring this person a sense of fulfillment,” she stated.
